R&W Pave-IT

The base plate is the only element passing through every station of the production line from the block maker to the packaging. R&W implements this fact for the Pave-IT system which is a transparent and continuous quality management system. This technology is based on a RFID chip within the base plate allowing a clear identification of the plate along the production process. Quality relevant data is read during different stages of the production process via reading units and then saved with the corresponding chip label in a database. So, it is possible to allocate different information such as production data, quality features, etc. to each base plate - and, thus, also to one of the layers of blocks produced on this base plate. The combination with the R&W height control system allows a continuous quality management as for each layer of blocks up to the packaging all data is available and traceable at any time. The technology PERI Pave-IT allows a closed flow of information from the wet to the dry side as well as a fast reaction to quality deviations. At the same time, it is possible to document cycle speeds and service intervals of the base plates.

The database principle

In order to read data free of contact, a reading head is required. It is, together with an evaluation unit, the reading system. The evaluation unit is connected to the data SPS via a Profibus. As soon as the base plate with an integrated RFID chip passes along the reading head, the number of the chip is read. Afterwards, the SPS can enter data belonging to the base plate into the database or obtain data from the database. Data can be evaluated in form of graphs or tables. It can also be individually adjusted as required.

The base plant equipment

  • The reading system behind the height control system of the wet side allocates the height control results to the base plate and enters them into the database.

  • The reading system on the dry side behind the lowerator is responsible for reading the chip number; previously measured block heights and deviations from the target are visualised for the user on the screen of the service computer. This enables a fast sorting out of the B-products.

Possible upgrade levels

  • An additional reading unit behind the block maker allows allocating the production and machine data (filling level, raw materials, vibration times, etc.) to each layer of blocks and saves it in the database. This results in linked product and production data in the database what enables sustainable production adjustments.
  • Process steps such as stopping the conveyor or unloading can be automatically initiated by exceeding defined allowances.
  • A reading system in front of the packager allows to transfer data for the packager unit controller and to create a label with all relevant data for each block package.
  • The documentation of the plate circulation enables an optimisation of the board bearing for an even utilization.

Colour marker for SHV500

The colour marker is used for marking rows of blocks where the height is outside the specified tolerances. The system is installed on the side of the conveyor track. The row of blocks is marked on one side in the transport direction with luminous paint.

colour marker Rows of blocks after the drying can thus be rejected as, e.g. B-products. The paint is fast drying and also remains visible after a washing process. The colour marker is controlled and operated by the controller of the SHV500 Height Control System.
